Need help with with oil filter housing gasket

Anyone know if you have to drain the coolant before replacing the smaller of the oil filter housing gaskets. (the one towards the front of the engine)

Can i just disconnect the coolant hose? Or does it require it to be drained. Appreciate the help have a pretty bad leak atm, will change the other gasket when i have more time but i know that involves removing more but its way to cold.

You do not have to drain the coolant to due either gasket. Oil cooler or oil filter housing. just top off when done.
You should really do them both at the same time. It only takes an extra 10 min to remove the 3 e10 bolts. Plus you are going to make a huge mess twice instead of once.

Use a clamp to close down the hose.

If anyone else is doing the same gasket, you dont need to drain the coolant. Just take off the three screws on the housing and put some shop towels under it as it is going to drip some. fyi it is much easier to access the lower screw when you unbolt the cooler lines.
