car control clinic for 16 year old

I'm trying to find a car control clinic for a 16 year old. The BMW club is 18 and over. Anyone have any suggestions? By late spring-summer, he'll have minimal driving experience and right now, isn't really interested in getting his license (WTF?????). His mom and dad can't even believe it. Anyway, he's a good kid and helps out a bunch, so the wife and I thought we'd help boost his interest the right way. After all, who wouldn't get the bug after a day of great instruction and driving in a 335???

I think this is a great idea. I had an ex who's younger brother had no interest in a license or car and he was 21. Wtf is wrong with kids now a days? I'm only 24 but I had my license the day after my 16th birthday(I'm a july 4th bday so the DMV was closed ). Go show him what safe responsible spirited driving is all about! Good luck finding a spot man.

Very true, except his mom has a CL55 AMG, and she'll let him drive it. But, the BMW club doesn't allow verts in the classes and I'm sure he'll be more relaxed with me telling him to have fun in my ride than worrying about scuffing up mom's toy with a cone...

I hope I can find him something and stress upon him the diffrence between what's acceptable on the track and off the track.

I have always wanted to try this out. I'm not sure if Portland is too far away for you though.

both of those are a little steep. I was wondering if another club has one available for younger drivers.

Not sure this is what your are looking for but check out goswerve.com

I have never tried them but it seems like they do their driving school every month in the Bellevue college parking lot.

I would check out DirtFish Rally School. They are located up in Snoqualmie and the instructor, Jamie is a pro rally driver. They have all sorts of different classes and packages. I would give them a call. 866-285-1332

Try the Alfa Club. Events are open to licensed drivers of any age. Many of the instructors cross over between local BMW, Porsche and Alfa clubs. I've done the car control clinic with both the BMW and Alfa groups and it was very similar.
