I'm trying to figure out how I can connect my iPhone 4 and/or my iPod to my idrive system via the aux input in my center console. I don't have the USB in the console. I'm assuming that the connector into the bottom of the iPod and the 3.5mm end send the sound data and that the USB end would plug into a micro USB charger that would charge via the lighter socket. Is this correct? Would I be able to see song titles, etc on my idrive screen? Thanks for any input.

You will not get song titles or steering wheel control without 6fl

A y cable is what you need. Search kensington dock conntector to aux on amazon
