Passing Smog with exhaust + intake
What are the chances of passing smog tests with just a exhaust set-up and an intake.
The intake would be an easy swap out. but the exhaust would have to stay. Anyone passed with this set up??? Does higher or lower octane help with these test? |

u should have no problems passing the sniffer test. its the visual inspection/test that "fails" people... although MOST shops shouldn't bitch about simple mods like intake/exhaust. if they do, find a different shop.

+1 you should pass with the sniffing test but visual you wont pass with your intake.. if your intake has a CARB sticker then you should be fine but if it doesnt then i would just put back your oem intake and smog it that way with no hassle..

I have the Injen DCI so I should be fine. I didnt know if it made any impact on the outcome of the sniffer.
Gotta Love California and our jacked up smog and gas laws. |

that's why i have a K&N drop in filter , you can't notice anything looking at the engine bay besides the silver intake tubing running to the stock box, but my exhaust... well i might fail then lol. you should pass smog as long as you have both of the cats still on.
