Gloss/Matte Black Grille
Ok so I thought ,... everybody sells matte black grilles and whoever doesn't want matte wants glossy so why not combine in a good way and with a good reason.
I have a 325 with the chrome accents and black slats, tomorrow I will paint only the chromed part with gloss black to get it to be more part of the body and have the grille to look as a separate part, such as the lower grilles, they are marked and surrounded by gloss black (my car is jb) so I think it will give the car a better look by just painting the chrome parts. I know a lot of you will tell me that the paint will eventually chip,... I only have to say that I will take the risk, I can't afford the grilles right now and I really want the black grilles now! ![]() Well, I would like to hear opinions on this, I will post pics once I finish tomorrow, and see the results,.... if I happen not to like it I will just paint the rest on sunday.

It costs about $100 to buy grills. $40 - $50 for all DIY materials plus all your time. So in the end you're really paying a difference of $50 to $60. It's not that much...I would recommend getting the grills...then you never have to worry about chips.
It's not whether you will get a chip or not. You will get chips...just a matter of when... |
