no usb in 2008 335xi Ipod options?

Been searching a bit and it seems like most people have the USB connection capability in the center compartment I only have the aux.

What can I do to have the IPOD displayed on the Idrive and controlled with streering wheel?

i don't think you can.. unless by some act of god you can do it with just the aux cable

I believe there is a retrofit. Try googling it. May need to get coded after that but that's no big deal.

I have a 2008 328xi with just the AUX jack and NAV, Dealer just quoted me "$678.00 plus tax to order an I-pod interface kit that would be installed and programmed into loop".

OP: I'm exploring my options and wondered if you had learned anything further....
