Procede & Exhaust Combo

Hello again guys,

Vishnu's Procede appears to perform an additional of 20 whp power when used in combination of the Vishnu exhaust system. The sound is cool
and the appearance is really nice as well, but i would like it (in terms of appearance) much more if it was a quad exhaust system (two pipes on each side).

Question 1o you know if similar power increase would come in effect if I used another exhaust (for instance Hamann's or Hartge's ones) ?

Question 2 (to Shiv): Are you going to announce (or already have a proposal) on a quad exhaust system for a procede-335i?

No fair imitating the M. And 4 pieces of chrome are heavier than 2. And you have to mod the rear diffuser.

You have several options with an exhaust:

1) cat-back: the exhaust is replaced after the cat's. The resonator in the middle of the car is deleted in this case.

2) cat-back and delete the rear cat's. Says all.

3) turbo-back: all back from the turbo's is replaced. This includes the downpipes.

I would do option 1). Not really expensive and easy to go back to stock, if you have to. You should do some search

The option 1 though doesnt effect the HP performance i think...

Vishnu's one is all all back from the turbo's right??

I'm pretty sure vishnu's is option 2, like most of the other options out. A viable turboback option hasn't really come into play yet. (keyword: viable. as in, i'm not paying 3+ grand for some pipes)

You'd probably gain a couple hp with option 1.
Opening up the exhaust from the 2nd cat back won't do a lot, but the stock mufflers are a bit restrictive.
I'd say you'd gain 3-5 hp from a 2nd Catback or "axleback" type exhaust.
You may also lose 5-10 pounds in weight too.

But it's surely mostly for the sound.

Depending on your car you probably would get between 8 and 20rwhp if also using a piggyback. Im not sure if 20 on the site is wheel or crank. People are seeing an average of 15 from most catbacks.

I never said anything about any gains Panoz, I was just correctly ID'ing Vishnu's exhaust type. Personally I am getting a Procede and Exhaust package from Vishnu, mainly for the fact that they were built to work together, so why split up a pair? I understand that pretty much every exhaust of the same type with similar diameters will perform the same, but like i said, they come bundled together.

The cat-back systems from the primary cats back, thereby deleting the secondary cats and resonator. These are bolt on kits. If you did cat back from the secondary cat, you'd have to cut and weld, and essentially wouldn't gain much power at all since you are just replacing the muffler and resonator.

The other option is manually delete the secondary cats and resonator buy having them cut out and replaced by pipe. You'll still retain the stock mufflers and still get a good gain from doing this.

Then of course as you mentioned there is the turbo back.

Most turbo cars pick up substantial hp by opening up the exhaust...I'm sure other products will net very similar gains. I have no experience with the Vishnu exhaust but if it's as solid as the Procede then I'd stick with it.
