Hp versus weight
So i was thinking about weight reduction and horsepower earlier...
Do you guys think reducing weight is more effective or adding Hp? Say i removed 25lbs from my car, what would you guess the equivalent horsepower gain would be? sorry if this is a dumb post, just curious to what you guys think..

Not dumb at all... If your looking to reduce weight I think your best bet is light weight wheels. Could probably drop 35 pounds of unsprung rotating mass. Also I see a lot of people spending a lot of money trying to make HP...... On a non turbo car Im thinking a final drive reduction would make a much bigger difference then 10 HP on a dyno

That's what I was thinking,
My buddy has a mustang with stock. 306hp and my car has stock 230hp. I thought he would win with over 70+hp but that wasn't the case... We did a 40-80 and I just kept on going. After the race I looked at his car weight and he weighed over 4000lbs while my car weighs 3300 I think. So in this case weight>hp! I have a 328i so I can't really gain that much hp
