Recalibrate Steering Angle
Had my rack out to change downpipe and it threw a 5E40 code. Dealer said I need the angle sensor recalibrated and it is booked in for next week.
Was just wondering how they recalibrate it and if its something that can be done with INPA or NCSExpert? Might be handy for some of us to be able to do this as I heard lowering and simply changing balljoints can throw this error as it no longet thinks its going in a straight line as the geometry is out. EDIT : Yes you can do this via INPA diagnostic. JUst worked it out! Last edited by chesney72; 04-06-2011 at 05:42 PM.. |

I heard you just turn the wheel side to side until you can't anymore.
Search for bad servo motor. The process is explained in that thread....I think it was something like, does anyone know how to tell if you're servo motor is bad? Or something along those lines. |

Just lowered mine on sportlines and got the steering angle error. Will an alignment take care of it? Or does the dealer have to reset it? Im sure they won't reset it under warranty.
