Faulty iDrive or ECU?

2007 (57) BMW 320d Coupe M-Sport

I've had an issue with the engine management light coming on (2 weeks out of warranty). I took it to my local independant and they gave me a list of fault codes from the OBD2 port. They tried to reset them, but it came straight back.

The garage think it's either a faulty ECU or faulty iDrive. On the basis that the car is driving fine I'm leaning towards the iDrive.

Basically, it's EGR positioner actuator faulty, oxygen sensor heating actuation faulty, engine mounting control actuation faulty, air mass sensor faulty, IAT sensor faulty, communication between glow duration and engine control faulty.

Codes 4BD6, 41D1, 4A74, 4A79, 4206, 4BC1, 4BB6, 4BC6, 4BA1, 4BD7, 41E2.

Any ideas?

The iDrive screen does sod about on occasion, it takes a while to start up sometimes. In addition, the engine hasn't been running great (but may be the cold weather) and fuel consumption is up slightly (returning about 40mpg when I'd normally be getting 46).

I can't see how any of those codes could have anything to do with the i-Drive, looks more of an engine management problem to me. Might have to be a main dealer £££ but you could press for goodwill if it's just out of warranty.

It's been suggested that it could be a blown fuse? Any thoughts? I still haven't had it looked at yet, I'm scared of the price the dealer will charge haha

Check the battery terminals to make sure they're not loose causing voltage to drop on occasion...heard of this before

Take a check on the earth bonding straps to chassis, battery and also at the engine and gearbox areas.
