As mentioned above... try getting an alarm system (or a better one) with shock/suspension sensors. <--- if someone even bumps your car, your alarm will sound... this can get annoying to neighbors at 2am when some stray animal decides it likes your bimmer...

hmmmmmmmmmmmmm ya, this obviously sparks my interests in spendy alarms and stuff. But also dumb that it even needs to be done. People are stupid.

I invested on a DEI shock sensor that works with the OEM alarm from one of the forum members for $45 that builds his own. His name is Twinsnails something. You can adjust the sensitivity from 0-100%. At 100% a regular trunk slam from the car beside you could trigger the alarm. Good for tilting too.
might have to look into that!!

Wow, that is truly messed up! If you don't mind, I will take your lessons learned as my own and purchase wheel locks today! Best of luck in your journey for new wheels/tires. Hey, there is a guy in the Seattle area selling OEM BMW Sport Wheels (style 189) with fairly new tires for like $950.

Wow

Atleast they were nice enough to leave the car on rocks and leave your lug nuts.

If they were smart they would have grabbed the Kw's that were probably worth just as much as the wheels!

Yes of course insurance covers it... thats why you buy insurance. Its a comprehensive claim. Same as if they stole the entire car. Its not the car owners fault.

well, its probably easier/faster to just find something (in this case rocks) and drop the car...rather than dropping it to the ground and somehow get the jacks out.

and yes they were super nice to leave the lugs. and for the KWs they would have to break in my car open the hood and trunk and un-do a bunch of shit. obviously thats not what they were after.

I already got my check from the insurance for the wheels and tires. But my car is still at the shop and not sure what the damage is there...

But I thought the OEM alarm monitors the vehicle's height, and activates if it's significantly altered .. ?

Garage List
2008 335i E93  [0.00]
It is traumatic seeing your car's wheels jacked and on rocks. I still have nightmares to this day (same thing happened with my old e36 back in the day). Wheel locks and alarms!! And video surveillance if you can. Hope those bastards get nabbed. My only solace for you is ... on to bigger and better rims!

I believe they knew what they were doing/got lucky, most likely they jacked up all four sides at the same time so the tilt sensor didnt go off.

Well the car sitting on the random shaped rocks =[ there was a lot of random damages underneath from that. Some scratches on the sideskirt around the jack spots. Also it looked like they tried to jack the car from the front diff...and MISSED...

But honestly i dont know exactly yet...its been snowing so much im sure my body shop has been swamped and etc. I have not heard from my buddy that works at the shop yet at all since the estimate of $2200.
