Grabbing Brakes!
Help!
I have a 2006 330i with 17k miles. The brakes are loud when grabbing to stop. One dealer said there was no problem. The second dealer requested an inspection from the regional "tech" and determined a problem with one of the compounds in the rear brake pads and replaced them. The problem went away for a few days and them came back. Third dealer is going to "tweak" the brakes to help with the noise but it is "normal". He said "I can make any car do that." Well, we also have a Mazda Rx-8 and it has never made that noise. I can consistently hear the grabbing noise inside the cabin. If you were in the car, you may say after a stop, "What's wrong with you brakes?" How much grabbing is normal for this braking system? How do I work through BMW to get this issue addressed properly? A $43k car should not sound this way! Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you David |

i hate when my brakes make noise.... something has to be worked on in to fix the situation, but if the dealer doesnt want anything to do with it, you may have to start paying out of your pocket....

Dealers that have tried
Brecht was no help and said there was no problem. Harloff said there was no problem but after pushing from BMWNA, I believe replaced the rear rotors and pads due to a issue with one of the brake pad compunds. Continental is going to "try" and reduce the noise but it is normal.
Ridiculous!!! David |
