05 Build DRL deactivate
Can I get a confirmation from somebody that they can code a 05 330i e90 to remove the daytime running lights? Mine is too old for the setting to be in the BC stalk.
I have been told only dealers with autologic can do this, can somebody please prove me wrong!

Just to bring some closure to this lively thread, for an 05 build you can not simply code out the DRL's. They must be deactivated by the dealer or a shop with the Autologic software.
FYI, Lutz Performance in Tampa FL has this expensive tool and I can't wait to try it out!

I did it on a Canadian model, 330 build 06/05...in "FRM" submodule, look for TAGFAHRLICHT_ECE and change to nicht_aktiv...this turned off the high beam as DRL...

Wissam is right.
Its in FRM and option has to be TAGFAHRLICHT_ECE nicht_aktiv I did it on mine US model. ON and OFF. Finally left it OFF. There is also 2 other places to enable DRL dimming and Hi Beams but TAGFAHRLICHT_ECE is "main switch" I believe. I can provide more info if you like. Hope it works for you. |

After 3rd attempt I was able to disable DRL. However, when I insert the key and press start, my AE's flicker as if they are coding. Is this normal?

Yes..it`s because of the cold/warm checks.
I am guessing you have led angel eyes. The current sent to check the condition of the bulb is not enough to turn on halogen lights, but is enough to turn on the LED. The results is you get flickers from the Angel eyes. You can disable the warm/cold checks for the angel eyes through the frm module. Take a look at the spreadsheet for the line to disable. |

You should be able to remove $896 from the VO and it should disable the DRL.
You won't be able to enable/disable via the BC on older models because the software simply didn't support it at the time. |

I can found TAGFAHRLICHT_ECE in my FRM file so this make sense. In the google code spreedsheet there is only TAGFAHRLICHT_ECE_1 documented, should we add TAGFAHRLICHT_ECE? Also, anybody know what is DEF_TAGFAHRLICHT_ECE_CKM and UNP_TAGFAHRLICHT_ECE_CKM ? |
