Does anyone have the Nav Professional CIC DVD's
Hi,
I want to try and "adapt" the CIC DVD'd to include custom POI's (such as speed cameras) to the current CIC (hard drive) based iDrive navigation. This was possible with the older non-CIC DVD's. I understand you can purchase the 2011 upgrade which includes the DVD's with the FSC code. I already have the FSC code, but was not supplied the DVD's when I bought the car. Does anyone have the BMW Navigation System Professional in connection with a CIC High Disk System (Car Infotainment Computer) DVD's???

Graham you are going to have to step back a little.
1. Are you saying you can get speed cameras etc on the sat nav? 2. is this 'there' or do i need to manually key (WTF) this in? 3. Not sure if you are saying you have dvd or hdd? I have dvd but it is 3 years old, if anyone has a current one I know a chap who can make copies no questions asked |

It's reasonably easy to add speed cameras to the older DVD based iDrives...see here http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e60...ed-satnav.html
My interest is making this work on the new hard-drive CIC systems. I tried GPS underground but they don't have the AU/NZ DVD's. My hope is someone has/can find the CIC AU/NZ DVD's for me to start work on.....

Yeh join the queue!
I suspect its gonna be a long one, with the newer cars having the hhd based system and those with older models too tight to spring the 500 odd the bmw want for an 'updated' map |

http://gpsunderground.com/forum/bmw/...road-maps.html You have to Register to see the links, then download the .ISO & burn it to a CD (or DVD). Is this what you're after? |

I haven't updated my 2nd Gen CIC Nav yet, but I assume it will be updated via USB (and probably via the dealers). |

This still doesn't tell us how to add custom POI's to the hard disk based system. Graham, everywhere else in the world, the DVD set for the latest maps are sold for a very nominal price, the FSC code is meant to be the pricey item. You _may_ be able to get the latest discs from spareparts. Again, this doesn't solve the inability to add custom POI's. |
