impact of 18 inch alloys on 320d suspension?
Hi,
My friend is planning to replace his 16 inch standard alloys (RFTs) with 18 inch M alloys (without RFTs) on 320d. I wonder if somebody has tried it before? My concerns are the impact of low profile wheels on the suspension, shocks and bushes of the car? Anybody who has done practical and would like to share experience? Many thanks. |

It will fcuk the ride up for sure....non RFTs are a help but you will still feel a lot more pot holes etc.
I am sure the suspension etc will be fine, as you can specify 18's as options from the factory.

I went from 17" non RFT to 19" with RFT for a while and it was horrid
18" with non RFT is the route I'm now going for summer wheels and having tried it before its a good compromise between wheel size and ride. Though no chance would I fit RFTs I like my spine - its battered badly enough

16" to 19"
I went from stock 16" to 19" car drive nice and also looks better, no issue but saying that wheels do need to have the right tyres so that no rubbing occur while gong over bumpy roads
