E90 Tyre Options

Hi All,

Sorry if this thread has been done to death, but I couldn't seem to find any direct answers to my questions. Looking into swapping my set of tyres on my E90. I'm currently running Brigestone Potenza 88Ws but they seem extortionate to replace.

My question is what tyres are people currently running and what is the general concensus on the best option for the saloon?

Cheers in advance,

Dave

If you want to stay with runflat tyres then Michelin PS2s are the best IMHO. Way better than Bridgestones though so are Continentals.

I'm not sure the current ones are runflats. I've heard runflats are less comfortable and increase road noise. I wanted to keep around teh £100 per corner mark really. I like the look of continentals.

If your 320d has the standard size wheels they will be 16 inch. Runflats are no problem. The people who complain about runflats usually have 19 or sometimes 18 inch wheels.

Whilst aforementioned Vreds are awesome value, they are summer tyres, wait a few months if you're not going to run winter tyres!

I think you will find it hard to find a half decent tyre for £100 on 18s

Ultracs off camskill will bring your average into the 100 mark.

Just been to my local tyre place and it seems i've got 4mm tread left on 3 of the tyres and then 7mm on one of the rears. A few thousand miles then I guess I'll need to replace. I didn't realise but the Bridgestones i have are runflats.

They quoted £180 a tyre for the fronts and a whopping £280 for the rear tyre. They also seemed to think options are limited to Bridgestones unless I go for non runflats.

What are people's thoughts on runflats. Are they worth the extra money?

Cheers,

Dave

Runflats are not the way forward in my opinion. I just brought the Conti's you linked to from camskill to fit to my MV3's, came to £600 all in which isn't too bad for 18's if you want a premium brand of tyre.
