19 vs 18 opinions wanted

I drive a 330xi and was just wondering if I\'ll regret it if I put 19\'s on my car and leave the stock suspension since I don\'t have the money for that yet. Would it be smarter to go with some 18\" style 162 rims and call it a day?

All opinions welcome!

I think 19 look better but they are more susceptible to damage. They are also a little rougher of a ride than 18's.

Also tires on 19's are a little more expensive.

I say go by your priorities. If looks is on the top, then definitely 19's. If ride comfort and price is on top, the 18's. Best advice I can give is to go with what you feel you would regret more if you didn't do. You'll have less to second guess

BTW - I've got 19's wrapped in some Goodyear Asymetrics lowered on Eibach Pro-kits and controlled by BMW Perf Dampers. My wife at first didn't notice the difference in ride quality and has yet to complain once!

I ended up buying the 19s. I figured that if it wasn't about the looks, I'd just stick to my 16s lol. After the summer, I'll know whether it was a good or bad decision.

Thanks guys! I think the 19" setup needs to happen then since I'm just looking to make my car stand out from the others I see every day.

I am however, worried that since I have stock XI suspension that the 19" rims would make the car look like its sitting on a lift kit. Pictures can be a little misleading so i was wondering if any of you have first hand experience seeing a XI on 19s without a drop? will it look odd?
