What does the CPO cover?

I know it covers most stuff and that there is a $50 deductible and what not but I wanted to know if I put new brakes, rotors etc and aftermarket performance parts on my car would it void the CPO warranty I have. Would really like to know because there are many parts I would like to purchase soon.

Changing your brakes and rotors wouldn't affect your CPO warranty because its wear and tear which it doesn't cover anyways. As far as performance parts it depends I guess...

When I bought my car, I paid the extra 2k dollars to get the warranty extended. I don't know what that warranties called but I just got my front brakes and rotors replaced at no cost to me which was pretty sweet.

But I wanna get some drilled/slotted rotors for better braking and better appearance on my car but don't know if it would void it. What about a cold air intake? Would that void it?

If you got brakes replaced, you purchased the Extended Maintenance contract which is different from a CPO or other extended WARRANTY. You should probably read it closely to understand exactly what maintenance is covered.

Word is that OEM BMW brakes seem to work quite well, and since you just had them replaced, why change now? Or are you planning to track a 328xi?

Yeah thats true I guess; don't fix what isn't broken. I wanted to get some new rotors because the rust shows on the smaller part right by the wheel and the Stoptech ones I saw have a coating on them so they wouldn't ever rust.

It is certainly not worth replacing good rotors and pads as that surface rust is inconsequential. Simply drive a bit, apply the brakes and it should be scraped off.

Theres no rust on the actual rotor, its on the smaller part where the bolts go into. The look of the cross drilled/slotted ones I found at brakeperfomance.com would look damn good on my car behind the rims.

I'm also gonna' put in a stage 2 air intake that I found that actually made for a 328xi that adds 12 hp. Gonna' put it in and whenever I have to take my car to the dealership, I'll just put the old airbox back in so they don't say anything.
