OK further to the beginners thread:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=480261 When you download a set from v45 here eg. "SP-daten-E89" you are left with: SP-daten-E89\cfgdat containing inpa.ini and other files SP-daten-E89\data containing ACC260-ZBELL2 folders etc.. SP-daten-E89\daten containing lots of files inc C0x SP-daten-E89\ecu containing grp files SP-daten-E89\format containing .fix and .sho files SP-daten-E89\kmmData containing .txt files SP-daten-E89\sgdat containing .ipo files I am far from an expert but as I understand it, assuming you have followed the beginners thread and extracted the NCSEXPERT.rar to your root c drive you need to copy these to the respective folders (select replace - yes to all): http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...8&postcount=13 SP-daten-E89\sgdat\*.ipo ---> c:\NCSEXPER\SGDAT SP-daten-E89\daten\*.* ---> c:\NCSEXPER\DATEN\E89 SP-daten-E89\ecu\*.prg ---> c:\EDIABAS\Ecu Which leads to the questions, 1) Do you copy the remaining folders below and if so where to (or are they just for updating a car's software version)? SP-daten-E89\cfgdat containing inpa.ini and other files SP-daten-E89\data containing ACC260-ZBELL2 folders etc.. SP-daten-E89\format containing .fix and .sho files SP-daten-E89\kmmData containing .txt files 2) If you want to update multiple vehicle types, do you repeat the above process for each downloaded SP-daten-Exx folder, selecting copy and replace?

I used Winmerge to update
It shows you all the files I only changed the ones that had newer dates or added the ones that were absent . It seems to work.
