Changed bro-inlaws spark plugs. Cylinder 2 plug was oily?!
Brother in law has a 09 e92 m sport 335i x-drive. He's at 60k and asked if I'd help him change his plugs. All were we'll except cylinder 2 had oil on the plug. Any thoughts? I was leaning towards leaky injector...

? How would a leaking injector get oil on the plug... if anything, leaking gasoline would CLEAN oil off the plug.
He probably has a bad valve cover gasket... or at the very least, the circular rings in the center of the valve cover gasket. |

If it was cylinder 2, it's right below the oil cap. Possibly a spill during an oil service or a top off can cause it. Just clean it out and keep an eye on it.

Was the oil on the tip of the plug in the combustion chamber or was it on the top/exterior portion of the plug?
