e92 OEM Performance Exhaust with different tips change sound/tone etc ?
Im thinking about getting the BMW PE in the near future, and i'm not really a fan of the tips. If i were to swap them with say, cyba's tips (keeping them dual, not quad), ya'll think the sound of the exhaust would change?
anyone already done this? chime in please |

Very little. The mufflers is what makes the sound, not the tips. But I had tips installed in front of me onto a stock 335i exhaust and the note changed, but just a little deeper.

yea i know the sound stems from the mufflers but i think the tips do play a part, very little but i was curious if it would be higher or lower. if it is deeper as you mentioned, im cool with that.

I wouldn't touch the tips. I swapped and ended up swapping back. If you look at how the pe tips are designed you'll understand. When i swapped to the oe tips it basically sounded like the stock exhaust until I got on it. Pops and gurgling for the most part disappeared. Put the pe tips back on and I was happy again. BMW engineered those ugly ass tips like that for a reason and I'm not risking the sound for looks again.

My personal experience, I have the BMW PE and had a professional muffler shop weld some 4' Dimisa tips and I couldn't be happier, everything stayed the same sound wise and looks great!
