2008 Porsche 4S issues?

So after buying my 2008 M coupe, I kind of miss having my convertible on those really nice days. So, I am looking at buying a 2008 Porsche 911 4S covertible...Does anyone know of anything I need to look out for or any routine problems with this model? It currently has ~18,000 miles.

Thanks

From my Porsche buddy at work, the motors are solid. It's new enough not to have any major issues but do keep in mind that regular maintenance is much more expensive.

Too bad you couldn't put it off another 6 months. With the new 991's coming out and buying it in the Fall of 2012, you should be able to get a killer deal.

As an owner of about a half dozen 911 variants past and present, I'd say you're probably okay with the second gen DFI motors (as long as carbon build up isn't going to be a long term issue with the DFIs.)

I suffered IMS failure on a gen 1 997. Total 911 ran an article about the myths and realities of IMS failures in this article (need a sub): https://www.imagineshop.co.uk/index..../view/id/1402/

Before you buy, you might want to visit Rennlist: http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforum...liability.html

btw, PCNA doesn't offer extended warranties after the factory one is up (like Mercedes and BMW do.) Be sure to get a CPO with the extended 2 years from the date of the used retail purchase and 50k miles (not to exceed 100k.) Repairs can be really pricey, and all the while the car is depreciating with every year of ownership.

Here she is!

Thanks for the info, I'll have to check it out. The car is CPO'd to 100k

Now I'll have to find something to pull the boat and sea-doo's

Don't forget that's 100k miles or two years from today (if you bought it today), whichever comes first. So be sure to start putting on the miles starting now.

p.s., what options does it have?
