DPF
hi
Anybody had problems with their DPF (diesel-particulate-filter) on an E90 330D? my light comes on after about 10 mins drivin. been to the dealer and they said they had to reprogram the compu, which is booked aswell. was just wonderin if it is more common or maybe because of the remap. thx rgds Robert

This is something the tuner spoke about when re-mapping mine, if the map is too agressive and the car is over fuelled it wont smoke like the older diesels, it`ll just kill the DPF quicker Of course this might be nothing to do with the re-map and just an early failure or sensor problem ? |

thats exactly what i was afraid of.
@dxb335d: its not smokin at all because of the dpf, however i think that as mikem said it might be reachin the end of its life... if it would be because of the remap, then it would be fairly quick after 5 months and 6000 mls.... was just wonderin if anybody else had the prob before. rgds Robert

Obviously it's worth giving them the right to reply, but it would be interesting to hear who did your map and if others have had similar issues.
It might be, for example, that you've covered one of the greatest distances with a remap on this unit with a DPF. Just a thought. Of course, it could well turn out that the DPF is/was $hagged from the get-go, or that some non-map related issue is the cause. How did you run it in? |
