Mechatronic sleeve
I've had to have two mechatronic sleeves replaced within a year and a half period... luckily the second was covered by the parts guarantee.
Is this normal? Or indicative of a larger issue? Or a ploy to squeeze out an extra $710 from me. (My service guy didn't realize I just had it replaced when he recommended the service.) Would be interested in hearing if this is a common issue...

Supposedly the sleeve from ZF was upgraded. Many 06's had this done at some time. Perhaps the replacement wasn't the upgraded part or it was done incorrectly.

I was shocked when I saw what they charge to change that part. If you can change your own oil you can do it yourself and a small fraction of what they charge.
