Hey, just bought an 07' 335i and already ordered a bunch of stuff (19's, coilover's,side skirts). Will I pass NJ inspection if I lower my vehicle? Think I should get it inspected before I setup all my parts

no it does not affect your inspection, as long as you have no obvious problems or your dash looks like a christmas tree don't sweat it, but hey if you have the time why not just do it early for your piece of mind..

i never had any problems with being lowered, im on coilovers and i pass inspection with no problems

ok, thanks..weird, I googled this and people stated they failed with coilovers

does not in NY im an inspector. have heard of people getting failed for it before but alot of grimey places will try and pull whatever on you.

NJ Inspection consists of Emissions Testing. In an effort to save money, the state has ditched safety inspections. As mentioned as long as you don't have CEL or any codes and your emissions are fine, you should have no problems.

I think you're getting paranoid lol... you're fine! Tints, or a drop will not make you fail.

Now if you had downpipes and had to deal with setting readiness and all that crap then you maybe yea i'd be weary. Once im inspected, I'm throwing mine on and worry about it later.

NJ Yes, you'll pass. Like Hyper 545i said above, NJ only checks emissions now. I went through with full tints and covers on my plates and passed. They won't even notice a lowered car.They only care about emissions and the CEL light. NY I have no idea.

I had tints on my Mazda 3, about 4 years ago, and NJ failed me . Good to see they stopped checking that now

Good to hear that they don't check for tint during inspection in NJ anymore!!! Did you bring your car to the state inspection facility?

i don't know where you guys are going with tint but every mvc inspection center i've went to in the past year has rejected and sent me on my way with a bright red fail sticker for tints, did something recently change?

Yes, I took it through the state facility in Flemington. I used to bring our cars to independent shops, but when they did away with all the other checks I figured I'd go the free route. So far, so good since 2 passed recently with tints and plate covers.

My tints are medium. You can tell they're tinted, but they aren't so dark you can't see through them. I don't know if that matters, but they did't say anything at all or seem to care about anything besides the emissions.
