Save yourself some money if your just after standard set up, use Euro Car Parts and order their Pagid OEM setup, 25% off at the moment so you'll get change for £200.

I fitted pagid discs recently - they are VERY accurately machined and finished exactly like oem.

Very pleased so far!

If you want genuine to keep your extended warranty then you will have to get BMW to fit them also if its on your idrive as service requirements? (I await all the "its not part of service history reply",but it is)

If not then try bmminiparts they have them in stock at a little saving as i checked recently

yeah i know bmw will have to fit them, i've got no issue with that.

they are due in 10k miles but they are seriously lipped so i'm looking to get them done early.

i'm not fussed about a saving, i just want to know the price before i ring up a few dealers, get told a figure that i have no idea is a 'good price' or not and then end up getting taken for a ride

why can no one just answer my original question.. stop assuming things(!)

Sytners quoted me around £750+vat a few months ago IIRC.

About £350+vat at indy specialist OEM parts which I went for as no warranty.

Oh so you want a price for supply and fit,i see now
Well i got a quote of £475 for discs and pads for the rear of mine fitted and £175 just for the rear pads fitted

Guess it all depends on how much hourly rate the dealer you use will be,but here is your part numbers

Part numbers:

Front discs:34116854999 £80 plus vat each
Front Pads:34116799166 £94.44 plus vat
Wear sensor:34 35 6762252 £17.50 plus vat

Rear discs:34216764655 No idea of cost, but guess its slightly less than front
Rear pads:34216791938 £68.64 plus vat
Rear Sensor:34 35 6762253 £18.42 plus vat

When I was in sytners last month I asked how much the labour rate was and reply was £110 per hour. So going on the prices above for the gen parts, I would say 2/3 hours at BMW and you should have a rough figure

My rough calculation would be around £700-750 mark inc vat

I guess we are fortunate to have the tools and confidence to do these works.
Not everyone has, especially as brakes are somewhat 'mission critical'.

But I always believe in having a go, if you have an experienced guide to help you even better.
It's all about confidence, and that then builds more skills that save £££ in the future.

My parents thought I was insane pulling and rebuilding a 2ltr engine in a public carpark at age 19 with NO experience, just a Haynes handbook.

But I made it happen with borrowed tools and cash.
No choice - fix it or take the bus for two years - great motivator (and shagging on a bus is trouble)

Steve
