I can't believe this is even a thread, obviously you/anyone who has the cash to spend should go with a GTR.

Why waste your time, money, and energy on all these mods when you can get 1 car that is already amazing in every way (that being the GTR)??

This is almost like comparing an Accord to an M3 IMHO............

This... I have never been told that they can't cover more than $50K and have had no issue getting insurance for cars that are worth more than that. You have either been duped by your insurance or your agent has no idea what he's talking about.

Given the number of cars that are out there that are worth well more than $50K that would be about the worst business decision that an insurance company could make.
I've had a situation where I was rear ended and the other party's insurance company only covered up to $10,000 in damages....so I think what he's trying to say is most insurance companies will only cover up to a certain amount if your car is damaged.

A little confused as to why this question is even being asked. The GT-R is in a whole other class, even compared to the M5 (unless you are looking for luxury/people hauler). No brainer here. As for the Z06, it's a great car that is plagued by garbage quality and is not at all a dd. For track duty, it's very comparable.

I find the z06 a great daily driver as long as its nice weather.
Its get incredibly good gas mileage, great low end torque for dd and I personally like the way it rides especially with the magnetic suspension. (My uncle has a z06, Ive driven it and I love it)
Ill admit the interior isnt bmw quality, but I personally dont mind it, Im not an interior whore lol.

I've owned quite a few Z06's and they are great, but SUCK as daily drivers in the DC Metro area. They are low as hell to the ground and scrape everywhere, the cabin noise is unbearable, the interior is garbage, and the shifter is horrible.

However I kept going back because at the track, they are MONSTERS and for the price- I'd even say they are better than GT-R's. The GT-R is great, but you have to add an oil cooler, a transmission cooler, better brakes to track it properly. The Z06, just get in and drive.

All this being said, I preferred the c5 to the c6.

Here is a pic of one of my old C5's. I miss her dearly.
