Sanity check: 2010 335i msport xdrive

EDIT: note the entire engine was replaced at 1300 miles. What does this impact on pricing?

Looking for a price/sanity check on this:

2010 335i xdrive sedan
CPO
X Drive
Black on black
premium package
cold weather package
m-sport package w/ 193M 18's.
6 speed manual
USB/Ipod
Ambiance lighting
xenon
original warranty expires 4/3/2014, then CPO begins

37,226 miles, so will exceed miles in about 1 1/2 years, not the 2 left on the original warranty.

Asking $35,995

If you go on cars.com (for example) and search cars with the exact same specs as this one, you'll find this is right on point.

Shoot for $4k less, at worst they'll back up to $2k off asking price.

The entire engine was replaced at 1,000 miles. In another thread I was told that should knock off 3 to 4K.

Its near impossible to find 6 speed with M Sport Packages. I budgeted no more than $32k, but for this car I'd be willing to go a little higher. I was preferring a 2009 with 30k miles or so, which are of course far cheaper.

I am going in to see it tomorrow, so we will see.

Depends on how bad you want it. You can push for a deal, but honestly, if you paid an amount you thought was acceptable, it can't be a bad deal, even if someone else could potentially get it cheaper, right?

I'd offer 32k, if that's your original budget. If they come back $33k or something close, maybe you just jump on it if that small increase is workable. If they balk, walk away.

Perhaps you'll get a call the next day.

As for the motor, it was replaced a while ago. If there were any issues from the replacement, I'd think they would have surfaced by now. Also, blocked was replaced early, so while it may drive down the value a little as far as parts-matching, for a daily driver, I don't think it'd be a huge amount off.

I agree with the others, seems its priced a tad high considering, but it is a rare bird too, but with a history issue, so start 4K off, if you meet in the middle its still a nice package...If it was not CPO, would you buy it at $32K?

That mileage your about due for Pads, maybe rotors, and new plugs, so see what they did on the service printout, and what they did for CPO. Has it had any paint/body work too...? Have paint meter taken to it...

17K miles a year is a tad high for usage, how many miles a year you drive?

You can ask them to take off CPO to save you between $2500-1250, depending on how you negotiate, so that can lower the cost, but if you're at all concerned about things going wrong, it might be worth keeping the CPO. I almost regret not ditching the CPO to have more cash, but I'm still pretty risk averse about my cars. Hopefully soon I'll gain some experience doing more complex stuff with my car, to the point of feeling comfortable with repairs.

Actually on Cars.com, there are 32 6M/T 335iX's not sure how many are Msport...

I see the one you want in Ohio, the CarFax is very suspicious..there are multiple SERVICE intervals within a few thousand miles of each other just after the engine was replaced and also towards the end. You need to find out why the car was in for service every month/every couple thousand miles, could be an ongoing issue. Is it a Buy Back/Lemon?

Also, this owner put on 20K miles a year...that is a lot, wonder where he drove so much in Ohio?

The one right after the engine replacement was the HPFP.

Garage List
$35k is a lot... Just a few days ago I've seen 2009 -2010 coupes fully loaded alpine white/coral red 6mt for $28k and $30k.
