Meguiars DA Microfiber Correction System Review
(Finally took some pics in daylight of final product)
Hey guys, Just experimented for first time with DA Microfiber system thanks to the info I gathered from this site, detailed image and from autogeek. I must say that I am absolutely amazed!! I could not believe the ease and quality of correction I got - compared to that of the M105/205 combo - for an amateur! I'm really diggin the two step process. The product literally just wipes off with little effort, reducing fatigue and the risk of putting towel marks back into the finish. The pads dont get saturated with product and its real easy to "refluff" the fibers with compressed air. You end up using less product and there are way fewer pads to clean at the end of the day. Also - little to no dusting from the cutting compound. Another nerdy thing I like is the bottles the product comes in, they have self cleaning tips - really nice. Steps for Paint: Wash OTC Megs Gold Class Air Blow Dry and Microfiber Dry Megs OTC Clay Kit D300 D301 I did this spring detail after getting some pretty nasty etching in my rear bumper, r fender and in random spots on the doors from this winter's road grime and grit. I also had some dealer installed swirls and towel marks to get rid of - I may have hit a tumble weed or two as well, resulting in some light scratches (it gets real windy here). On the etching - I tried claying, hand applied polish, and then soft to more abrasive polishes by DA with a variety of pads but with little to no success. The D300 took it right off. I am really impressed with the finish of the D301 too, a really nice deep gloss and wet shine. Got excited and took a few night time garage pics when I finished up - I will update with some in sun and close ups soon. Sorry, I didn't take many close ups of the before detail because I was not expecting to post about it. Thanks! Thanks Man!
I do use a PC. The 7424xp. The system is just meg's backing plate and microfiber cutting and finishing discs plus their product. I think that if you were to use this system you would think your PC was a hero. Meg's designed it to be used with a DA. Last edited by drmdvl; 04-05-2012 at 12:27 AM.. |
