H&R Springs question, help needed.
Ok so here is my dilema i want to drop my ride to lessen fender gap but the roads here arent as smooth as they could be and i dont want to be bouncing all over the place and i dont want the car lowered too much either.
I have the standard OEM suspension at the moment i didnt get the sports package and came across H&R OE Sport springs which seem to be the ideal choice for me. I read that springs can damage the shocks already on my car so what do you guys think i should do, i dont want coilovers since i only need a slight drop. Here is my car as it is now: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68841 Last edited by n0s; 07-08-2007 at 09:58 AM.. |

Id say with your situation, you might wanna consider Eibach/FSD. You will still get a lowered car and a ride that is at least as good as stock, but most likely better.

There is a spring made by Eibach, its lower and considered to be smoother than the H&R brand. Additionally, there is a sport shock made by Koni called FSD, it has way of smoothing out bumps yet maintaining a decent ride. The two can be combined or bought as a kit. They will yeild a smooth ride, smoother than stock Sports Package, and yet have better handling at the same time. You can search for any of the terms Ive listed above and find out more info.

you have quite a bit of wheel gap there.... H&R Sports will lower your car, but there will still be wheel gap...
but if you dont want to go too low, i would suggest the Eibach/Koni FSD setup.... as Fraggy explained, it'll give you the look and the ride quality you are looking for.. |

Lots of people just put H&R on the their cars and are happy with it. If you dont drive too fast, you should be fine in most situations. I tried it was terribly unhappy by the bouncy ride over bumps and dips at high speed.

you need to pair them with aftermarket shocks if going fast.
