This is what I did on Sunday...

I was itching to see how the 335i was in the wet. So…..

http://www.drivingsolutions.com.au/S...ed-driving.htm

It was fun. It enabled me to put the 335i at the edge (and beyond) of its handling limit with varying degrees on traction control enabled.

Is was so slippery and so much fun. I felt like I was on Top Gear.

Short video:

I am heading out to Oran Park this Tueday to race with some friends in their 911's. Hopefully I'll be able to show what a BMW can do and make us proud.

Cheers.

Excellent! Sounds like great fun. I'd love to see you show those 911 boys a thing or two.

Hi Dan - Have a look at the URL CaptOz posted. They do all sorts of driver training and track days. I'd be interested to go out there and have a go on a track day - last Wednesday of every month - $275 for the day lunch included.

Anyone else? Here is the calender -

Thanks Chris. My friend's 911 is in being serviced at the moment and he has a Cayman S loaner. I took it for a spin along the streets surrounding the carwash this afternoon. I can say without any doubt that the Procede'd 335 is easily quicker. In fact the Cayman felt quite slow. However, I must admit the handling of the Cayman was very flat and neutral. We sat in both cars and compared the differences. All in all - the 335 is a miles better car. Quicker, much more refined and quiet, full of electronics and cheaper.

A good turbo setup is always going to be hard to beat. Just have a look at some of those old import Skylines going around and those too are going to give a Porsche a good thrashing in a straight line. However, the magic of a Porsche shines on a race track with their handling and superb brakes that can take a beating all day long.

I've done a Porsche track day and nothing else has ever come close for me.
