Detailing first time color jet black
So I recently just got a 07 335 jet blAck hard top convertible
Seems like it got detailed or just a wax but it has some like almost no swirls but it does.. So Ive been doing some research and it's a whole mess on where to start? So if u have a 335 color jet black what are your steps on removing swirls The whole nine yards.. Thanks in advance |

Writing out the whole nine yards on this procedure would take pages...
Go to detailedimage.com and check out their detailing guide. All the steps and procedures are listed there. |

I do a concentrated Foam Wash of DP Xtreme soap, wookie's fist wash mitt, then spray IronX and let sit for a few minutes, rinse, dry with soft waffle weaves, clay bar by section with Griot's clay bar and Chemical Guys Luber. I usually will foam wash again with no wash mitt, rinse and dry. Tape off the car with 3M blue or green tape.
For paint correction, I use: Menzerna SIP on Orange Pad w/ Makita Menzerna PO85RD on White Pad w/ Porter Cable Then I'll foam up the car again and rinse all the polish dust. After drying, I usually apply Menzerna Top inspection to remove the oils left from PO85RD because if i don't, my sealants and wax won't bond to the paint as well. For protection I use: A coat of Collinite liquid wax and then top it off with Swissvax Blau Weiss past wax. Don't bother with glazes, they suck. |

There's people that use low-end, high quality wax. Then there's people that use high-end, ultra quality wax. And then there's the fillers in the middle. There's also sealants and glazes. Just search Jet Black if you are particular to that color. And as mvillezcas said, glazes are only for some people. I as well don't bother with them. A general go-to for lots of people is the BlackFire Wet Diamond Sealant. If I had a garage I would buy Dodo Supernatural as well. As for swirls, get a PC polisher. There's many polishes to choose from, but the 2 I've seen most used is Menzerna and Meguiar's products.

If you want a two step process I'd suggest the Menzerna Super Intensive Polish SI 1500 (PO83) with our green pad followed by the Menzerna Micro Polish SF 4500 (PO85RD) and a black or blue pad.
Afterward protect the paint with a quality sealant or wax, most people pick the sealant because it's more durable. While there are tons of good options I personally love the Blackfire Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection. It's a great all around sealant that is easy to use, looks amazing on black and protects for about 4 - 6 months. Lastly don't forget you can save 10% off with the coupon code e90post. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask! Greg @ DI |
