Review - SSBrite 10w LED Angel Eyes (w/ Pics!)
Just wanted to give my 2 cents here. Received the SSBrite LED Angel Eyes from SonicTuning.com for $109 here: (http://www.sonictuning.com/bmw-ss-br...eye-7000k.html.
Shipping/Packaging - 10/10. Shipping was extremely quick (3 days), and only cost $6.50. Upon arrival, the packaging was extremely secure and well packed. Very professional. Only thing to note here is that the top of the invoice printing was cut off - not a big deal...I don't care. I didn't take pictures of the packaging, frankly because its out in the garage and I don't feel like doing it. Manufacturing - 8.5/10. These units are VERY similar to how the new BMS 4-LEDs look. They are round and have an LED at 90* increments around an aluminum cylinder, and felt very sturdy. All parts were well-machined and put together nicely. Wiring was the same gauge as in the car. There is a small 2-in. cylinder that you can see in Sonic's pictures that is attached to the wiring that is made of machined aluminum and painted - very well made and tightly secured. Again, no pictures here because I'm lazy tonight, but if you really want them, I'll take some tomorrow. Install - 7/10. This took me around 30 min to install these. That might seem on the lengthy side for 2 reasons. First, the way these are designed there is very little protruding outside of the housing once they are in (+ fit/finish), but gives you very little to hold on to minus the wires, making the install a bit more difficult in an E92 since we have to access the headlights from the top. Second reason - since the E92 space is so tight to work in, its almost impossible not to wedge the stock wiring against some sharp object inside there, which cut the insulation in several places, requiring me to tape it back up. Fit/Finish - 8/10. Once they were installed securely, I plugged in and tested them, and they functioned 90% correctly. I say this maybe out of naivety, but the regular halogens come on when the car is unlocked...these did not. Not until you have the car on acc/on do they work (I'm going to confirm this tomorrow to make sure, though). As I mentioned above, once installed, there is less than 1/2" protruding from the housing, leaving more room than the stock bulb to work around inside the housing (if you choose to...I don't know why you'd put your hand in there if you weren't changing that bulb...). I just dropped that 2" cylinder down in the housing and left it there and its fine. Satisfaction - 8/10. The lighting is VERY bright at night, though the outer ring is noticeably dimmer both day and night than the inner ring. You can mostly see the outer ring from the front, while the inner ring is amply bright day and night. This isn't a big deal to me really, and sine the inner ring is so bright, I'm satisfied. Before, taken at 3pm in broad daylight ![]() After, taken at 4pm in broad daylight. ![]() After, taken at 8pm. Taken from the side so you can see the actual ring. The outer one is actually might brighter than this at night. ![]() Last edited by rmw04c; 04-05-2012 at 02:59 PM.. Reason: Pics aren't working..... |

Hmm...you claim it's got 10-watts of power in one section, and six watts of power in another section of your website. Which is it? Just trying to eliminate confusion...

I can vouch for the fact that they are error free, and I'm selling a brand new set in the market!
