Illegal Plates?

I'm waiting on my license plates to be delivered since the dealership had to order it when I purchased my first E90. It came with the dealership advertisement plate card with a dealership license plate cover. I figure I might be able to swap it with my own graphic while I'm waiting for my real plates.

I attempted to search for California laws regarding the legality of this but couldn't find anything particular. Anyone have any insight as to if this is legal or not?

Thanks!

It really is. You can read up all you want about how to please a woman, you can look at all the diagrams in the world, but just like the clitoris, you won't know what the hell an apex is before you actually find it.

Just be prepared that it is an excuse, I mean reason, for them to pull you over and check that everything is on the up and up.

i got a fix it ticket for not having plates on the car 2 weeks after i bought it (used). CHP said dealership is required by law to give you your plates at the time of purchase for all used cars. He was also being a complete dick, so YMMV. just FYI
