If I do a muffler delete am I affecting performance or any other components of the car? My main concern here is warranty.
I've searched and found a topic about hpfp (which i know is unaffected) but what about the turbos. Can the dealer bring something up about back-pressure or the likes?

I understand how the law works, so my question is "will deleting the muffler give the dealer a reason to void anything else on the car?"

Also, is the volume level acceptable? It's not going to get me pulled over or give me headaches right? I figure with the turbos, cats and the resonator it won't be too loud.

Your warranty should be just fine. I wouldn't worry about that. What I would worry about is it sounding horrible. I've heard two N54 muffler deletes in person, one sounded HORRID and one sounded "okay." I wouldn't do it.

I currently run JB4/DCI with just a muffler delete. Personally, I like it. Won't get you pulled over for loud exhaust (keep in mind I have stock DP's and secondary cats in). But THERE IS a lot of drone in 6th @ 2500rpm cruising on the highway. Once it's all warmed up, it's not super loud. After comparing some catless DP'S with a muffler delete, I'd say I prefer stock DP's with a muffler delete.

After letting off the throttle in any gear (most notable at lower and mid RPM's) you get a lot of gurgle and pops from the exhaust. Up top in the RPM's, (and once you go WOT from ~3500) it's LOUD.

Again, I don't think it's crazy loud, but then again I'm used to my friends Camaro SS with electric cutouts and C6's with cutouts and headers. That's LOUD. As for the turbos, you shouldn't have an issue. With the mufflers removed warranty *shouldnt* be an issue.... Once you go catless you very well will run into dealer problems.

FWIW ^ this is not the setup I wanted to go with, but its the cheapest sound for your money. If your looking into any type of performance gains, save your cash to cut the mufflers out and weld pipe in and use it for some downpipes. Then go with an upgraded full exhaust.

I think you might like it just because you obviously have an e90 which has a resonator and your staying completely catted.

I videotaped my exhaust after the golf tee and I noticed some minor popping and I LOVED it! Glad to hear that it'll gurgle more. I want presence at low rpms, but not so loud that I can't drive in my neighborhood without upsetting people. It's nice to know that it opens up when the revs climb.
I think I'll be okay with drone, I'm still in my younger years and it's rare that I'm on the freeway for more than 10 min at a time: I usually play music loud. Any time the radio is on, I can't hear police sirens anyways, the car is well insulated.

So now the question is, should I do spacers in the rear and new tires or muffler delete first? Or should I just do both at the same time? I would like to spread out my mod-fever so that I can enjoy the little mods that I do.

I'm running a muffler and resonator delete with jb3 and a dci, and honestly, it's loud as hell on a cold start but after it warms up, the sound isn't obnoxious by any means. Personally, I think it sounds quite good. The drone does suck but it's bearable IMO. And I would get tires and spacers before muffler delete. Tires are for your own safety and if they need to be swapped out, it should be a priority. Spacers will look your sunken in wheels much less 'silly' per say. If you can do all of them at once though, definitely go for it! Good luck

Yea it's all subjective. Personally I have no problem with the drone at cruising speeds. Shoot me a PM with your email I'll take a quick video when I get off work so you have a better idea.
