I doubt he thinks it makes him cool, lets be honest driving a BMW these days makes you 'appear' a cock to most anyway, a little badge won't change that.

I also wouldn't say its advertising anything he has/hasn't got as a tri-colour badge on the front grille is not an M car thing. It clearly isn't to fool anyone.

Lastly, to say it says alot about the previous owner is akin to my first comment that driving a BMW makes you appear a cock to most - its a blatant over generalisation that is only true in some cases...

Never a big fan of badges on the grill , whether it be an M car or not tbh, but like already said.. Go with what makes you happy. It's your car & your money!

I like the look of black grills on LeMans blue, something which I'm looking to do. I would definitely opt for the standard BMW performance grills over those.

The majority obviously would remove it, but at least it isnt "clownage" - lol I laughed at that. I hadnt heard that expression before.
As a few of you have said, at the end of the day it's my car, so it is my decision.
I think for now I will leave it and carry on looking like a "monumental tit". If it had been universally seen as clownage, I would have removed it I think.
Although I am bothered about other peoples opinion of me, for some reason I am less bothered about being a "massive or imposing tit" than I am about being seen as a clown or trying to pass my car off as something that it isnt.
To be honest I may get tired of it in a month or two.

Re: "clownage". There's a sticky thread around here with hundreds of cars with stuck on M badges... I'm not sure where the term originally came from, but it's those that "we" dislike around these parts Yours doesn't fit that bill, so you're not for example driving around a 330d M3 - which is something you'd get slammed for

Mate having and badge or not having a badge doesnt make you a better/worse person. Let's face it, you spent your heard earned money on a BMW because you believe that Mr. German makes a damn good vehicle. So when he decides to stick M badges on the sills and steering wheel for M-Sport models, he probably thought it through. So what the hell makes some people think that it's "okay" to suddenly start sticking them all over the car... the car is what it is, appreciate for that.
