Question on Alpine Hi-Fi upgrade

Does anyone have a schematic or color code description on the wires that go into and out of the Alpine amp. What I would like to do is capture the leads from the HU before they go into the amp, in order to use them as inputs on an MS 8. Can this be done? I would like to bypass the amp completely and use the MS 8 to power all speakers. Does the harness from the Hi-Fi upgrade pick up the signal from the HU at the central base location?

Thanks,
Mike

- take a look at the underseat woofers connector
- there should be 2 wires in the connector plugged into the woofers enclosure and another 4 wires in a connector just like that one but close to the woofer enclosure plugged into another connector
- the 2 wires in the woofer enclosure are the woofer inputs/Alpine amp outputs to the woofer. Pin 2 should be negative, and pin 3 should be positive
- the 4 wires in the other connector are the front speaker inputs and the OEM HU front outputs. Pin 1 is the front speaker input negative, pin 2 is the OEM HU front output negative, pin 3 is OEM HU front output positive and pin 4 is front speaker input positive.

You should be able to identify the Alpine amp inputs (4 wires) and the outputs (8 wires) with that.

Alpine upgrade only taps the front channels so far as I remember
