Well I bought mine used off of ebay, so its a older unit. I did a lot of reading on the xbox360 and it says that a lot of people have problems with overheating. If its something I shouldn't worry about..then cool...Thanks!

but noone answered my question...Do you have to keep your xbox360 on while using the HD external device? Thanks!!

I'm not 100% sure but from feedback I've read on Amazon.com it sounds like the unit comes with a separate power cable so perhaps it can power up independently of the 360? Though that makes me wonder why it'd have to be part of the 360 at all I also read the unit has USB ports on it so you won't lose a port when you hook it up I suppose.

Maybe you could ask your local game store to be sure

The HD DVD drive, if that is what you are referring to, is just an external drive for the XBox 360. It's output is USB to the XBox 360. Think of it like an external HD or CD-Rom drive for a computer, where the XBox 360 is the computer. All graphics output and video processing is done in the 360, so ti must be powered on, otherwise the drive wouldn't be only $200, it would cost as much as other HD DVD players.

Just remember how many xboxs they have sold since last year. Of course you read or hear about the ones that have problems due to the internet, otherwise, you'd head to your local gaming store, ask them about reliability, buy one and walk out the door. You read about a single xbox which had a problem, but did you read about the other hundreds that didn't? Probably not. Many, many more people complain about their breakdowns than praise...this forum is a good example...and remember, this is just another form of media...please don't believe everything you read.

The new Apple iphone is a good example. One person out of a 1000 has a problem, he'll spam it on the internet, "the phone sucks, didn't do what i wanted, never buy from them again...blah blah..." Damn, my fuel pump went bad, my oil cooler broke, everytime i drive i'm afraid my car will break down, don't buy a BMW, they suck!!!! You take a chance with EVERYTHING you buy, get my point?

Lemme know if anyone is interested before i put it up on Ebay.. I have a xbox 360 premium for sale. Less than 25 hrs. of use on the xbox 360 itself. It comes w/ some Brand New Never Used accessories and 8 games. The wireless controller is Brand New Never Opened or used. Also the 20 GB hard drive is Brand new never Used along with the headset. These three items were pulled from another xbox 360 premium. It will be packaged w/ all manuals along w/ the original box and wrappers as if you were to buy it from the store. It has been sitting in my room all packed up since May and hasn't been used since then. I bought the 360 Late Feb.

8 games are in Like New condition and comes in original boxes w/ all manuals. 2 games are from the original xbox but it is backwards compatible so you can play it on the 360. Games included are Halo 2, Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. These two games are two of the top games on the original xbox and the 360 enhances the graphics quite a bit. The 6 xbox 360 games include Project Gotham Racing 3, Call of Duty 2, GRAW, Fight Night Rd. 3, Dead or Alive 4 and Lord of the Rings battle for Middle Earth. Also included is a cable to recharge the rechargeable battery pack ( Not Included). 2 AA batteries are included w/ the wireless remote.

Again you get a barely used xbox360 (less than 25 hrs of play time) w/ some Brand New accessories, 8 games and a wire that hooks up to the wireless remote controller to recharge a rechargeable battery pack(not included). Believe me I take care of my sh*t.. Hit me up w/ a pm and I could send you some pics. to your email.

Looking for $500, plus about 25 bucks for shipping payed by whoever wants to buy the unit.. Will be going up on ebay by the end of this week... Thanks
