Ballast Replacement!

Does anyone know how to replace the Xenon Ballast on an e90?! Replaced the bulbs today... turns out it wasn't the bulbs! Went out and bought the ballast which put a nice hole in my pocket. FML

I did it. Purchase a ballast on eBay, for around $115. Then you take the fender well off. Unscrew the side of the bumper you need to get some room. There are 2 star screws holding the ballast on, it helps greatly having a small ratchet wrench to do this. Xenon ballast comes off easily. With the bumper loose loosen the visa me screws on the light to be able to pull the ballast out. I had to take out the screws on the of the kidney grilles. This will allow the replacement of the ballast without removing the bumper. It's easy.

Could someone post pics of this to me? How do you do this? Is putting a used ballast on an issue? How do you know if it's not the control unit or the ballast that has failed?
