Angel Ring Not Working

Hi folks, one of the angel lights on my 330d is not working but has anyone replaced the light ring or is it a bulb that you need to replace?

It'll be the bulb mate and it's a pita to do as you've gotta take the inner wheel arch out afaik or thats what i did anyway but takes about 15 minutes.

Is it just one ring that's not working or both rings on one side?

its the bulb mate, as I showed you on my car

H7 type bulb, takes about 2 minutes to change. Halfords charge about 15 quid each, or order some GP Thunders, or LED ones from the classified section to get rid of the horrible yellow

I have a similar issue to this, however mine hasn't stopped working completely, one side is very very dim (the rings not the light itself).

I have the led upgrade however am considering a change to GP thunders.

As it is dim, could this be a loose connection or a bulb on its way out?

And if I need to change the bulb, do I just need one bulb or one bulb per ring

TIA

and sorry to the op for jacking the thread.

If you have the LED upgrade looks likely that one of the LEDs have failed, if you change back to standard or GP Thunder bulbs 1 bulb is required but I would suggest changing the other side as well to keep matched. Which LED upgrade do you have ?

Mine went recently, just bought a standard bulb to keep both sides the same. Am pretty OCD about these things so went to BMW to make sure the light was exactly the same, £25.27 later and its all good again, apart from my wallet !!

Looks like the LED has had it then.

I'm not 100% sure as the upgrade was done by the previous owner, I think its the H8 upgrade.

If I were to change I would obviously change both sides. As there are two rings on each side I wondered if each ring required a separate bulb.

One Ring Out

Ian, only one of the rings is out, the inner ring nearest to the grille not the main light.
So, you all reckon bit of a pain to get to? I need to see what time of bulb I need. Thanks for all the replies.
