Search by part number, looked last night. ECS tuning has them a little cheaper

Well I decided to go with:
PowerSlot cryo rotors stoptech street pads Stoptech Stainless lines Motul 600 fluid Purchased through Mike@N54 for a great price as usual. (Mike is great to work with). I decided against the Z4is 2 piece rotors because I wanted a matched set of slotted disks all the way around. These PowerSlot rotors are one up from the SportSlot apparently. For the amount that I plan to track, I think these will be a very good compromise. I hope the initial cold bite will be better than I have heard. I do like the cold bite of the stock rotors and pads.... but we shall see. I have them ordered and I will write up a review when I get it done. Probably in Jan depending on shipping.

I ordered brake sensors - I know this is optional, but is it recommended?

Let us know how you like it. I just ordered a similar setup (different rotors) same evertyhing else. I havn't run pad sensors in over a year, IMO sensors are for the "non enthusiast" who doesn't have the no-how or care to check pad depth. Are the recommended, probably yes, are they necessary....no.

Anyway, I am getting them installed too. Probably a waste of 100 bucks.... I'll certainly let everyone know how they are when I get them installed - probably next week. I have to figure out the bedding procedure now.

I heard that slotted rotors may cause a vibration at high speeds on a track day.... so that has me worried a bit, it better not happen on a high speed stop....

Ok, job done. 1 disappointment was that I didn't check the box on delivery and the Motul 600 fluid wasn't in there, so we had to put in DOT 4 stock fluid. Won't make any difference right now, not going to Mosport in the winter anyway... but pissed me off.
I just finished the bed in procedure. But, Ivo said I should wait for 2 weeks before they are fully up to snuff. Initial observations from highway commute to the office - over 1 hour and 15 min. Full highway - 140kms/h (90mph), and then stop and go traffic. initial cold bite: I need more seat time... but the first stop sign I come to in the neighbourhood, about 1/2 mile - hit the brakes from about 40 mph. Initial bite isn't as good, but marginally different. You seem to put a bit more pressure on the pedal. This goes away pretty quickly, then next stop sign I didn't really notice it - about another 1/2 mile away... I would say this is not really a big deal at all. Standard driving around town, no difference - car brakes nicely, smoothly, I have no noise right now. Highway pull down from 140 kms/hour - to say 80 kms/hour (50mph).... this is solid and I think better than stock. Solid feel, smooth performance, even and straight braking. Stop and go when warm - nice, smooth, solid - as good as stock or better. Might be better cause everything is new. Ivo said to wait for 2 weeks. I'll see if anything is different in 2 weeks. All in all, happy with my choice and performance. I'd tell you if I wasn't. BONUS.... slotted rotors look cool, and not stock !

Just about made me sick too! Ivo said you both were feeling sick after yours They feel good now Feel terrific when hot- more linear than stock that has more midrange I think No regrets and I would recommend for middle of the road upgrade

I thought I would send an update on this setup now I have a bunch of miles on.
Cold, there is a BIT less bite than stock, but I don't notice it now. Warm - like stock feel standard DD - like stock feel HOT - Better than stock feel, more consistent braking. BUT - the slotted rotors create a hum when you really hammer the binders repeatedly. If you are driving really hard and continually hammer the binders, you will feel and hear a hum on the rotors. I don't particularly like it. If I knew it did that before I bought them, I am not sure I would have... It doesn't affect anything, it is just slightly annoying as people think there is something wrong with your brakes. I am also not sure if the drilled rotors do this. I would suspect not because Porche, M3 and others put drilled on and nobody complains. I should have gotten drilled (same price) rather than slotted. Thought I would pass it along.
