SWS-8 4Ohms PDX-5 vs. Kenwood KAC-7204
I have been trying to drive my SWS-8 (4 ohms) with Kenwood KAC-7204 which I sourced cheaply. Kenwood is big, previously I had PDX-5 (still have) but I replacing PDX-5 completely and putting MS-8 driving all the speakers except the underseat SWS-8 which will be driven by KAC-7204.
Now my problem is fitting KAC under the L7 side trims. It does fit but it is not perfect fit, it is pushing trim a bit out which I want to avoid. At this stage my choices are quite limited, for once I am thinking to keep my PDX-5 for the time being and run front two channel for the door card speakers and rear two channels for the SWS-8, I know SWS-8 will be under powered but I don't really want to drive them hard. I listen them at very moderate level. Would this work or failing to fit this shall I look for different amp altogether. Mounting these parts are proving to be a nightmare There isn't any space in E60 boot.
