E90 Pre-LCI Angel Eyes
Hey everyone,
I'm a complete noob to E90's. Got rid of my E39 and got a '08 328xi. Now I have been searching for a few days and I'm hoping SOMEONE has a straight answer. I was looking at trying the GP Thunders for my AE's but I have NO idea what bulb type I'm supposed to get. After looking at the DIY for changing them I'm not for taking everything off, putting it back on JUST to find out what bulb I need and have to do it all over again when I actually change them. So once again '08 E90, Pre-LCI, with Xenon Headlights. What bulb type can I fit into the AE's? ANY HELP!? |

I have an 08 e90. I have the burger tuning led bulbs in mine. They were $90, idk if you want to spend that much. They are a medium between the GP thunders and the higher end Mtech and lux

Does the lighting distribute evenly through the inner and outer rings? I wouldnt mind paying fo LED's at that price range, but I saw a pic of the GP's and they looked pretty good to me (my opinion entitled). So figured if I could get them cheap I'd go that route.

There isn't a bulb type because it's a proprietary bulb. It's not like other bulbs D1S, 7507 etc. that are standard bulb types that work across many brands of cars. Just make sure when you're looking the description says it will work for E90 pre-LCI.

So basically my only option is to go with LED's?? Because from what I understand GP Thunder bulbs come in standard types. (i.e. H8, H7, 9006, etc...)

Get the MTEC V3's. I ran them, by far the brightest PnP angel eye setup for the pre-LCI's. They are only like 140$, I would get them. They match the faxtory xenons perfectly, and are even in distribution. Heres a pic in sunlight:

I'm honestly not sure if I see much of a difference bet. the Mtec and the ones CUTigers got from Burger... Guess in the end I have to pick for myself and just go by process of elimination... Cuz the arguement between Lux, Mtec, and all others just keeps going. LOL. BUt thanks a lot, u guys helped a bunch.

Ya. True that. People will argue about which is better all day long, it's dumb....any of the name brands work... I'm pretty sure our e90s are the easiest to have even in brightness because of our dual led set up, one bulb for each ring.
With that said, my Burger lights plugged right in, are white, are all even in brightness, and dont throw codes. I'm happy with them. |
