Engine oil successfully changed. The process was actually quite simple. Hardest part is the filter wrench did not have a rubber grip on it, so it was a little hard to loosen and tighten. I'll get a new one before the next oil change.

Ended up with OEM filter and Shell Rotella T6 5w40. Only took 6 quarts. took it off the ramps and did a check oil. Showed Max. Drove it up and down the highways, pretty hard and got the engine temps up, and it checked max. Woke up this morning and drove it lightly to work, about 10 miles, and it checked max. Was surprised since a lot of people were quoting 6.85 and 7 quarts.

I used 7 quarts in my E90. Same with my E39 528 and E39 540. Maybe you didn't get it all out. Ramps will change the level of the car. When I change I use ramps but I also point the car down the slope of my driveway and it ends up just about perfectly level.

Yea, I figured that is what I did, i'm sure. It shouldn't be a huge deal. I'll change next time at 3k instead of 3.5k and find a way to angle it to get all the oil out.
