Stock 335i Exhaust sound improvement?

Is there a way to make stock exhaust sound little better (maybe louder) by not spending money but a work of time? Of course do not want to sacrifice the pwr & trq.

Take out the mat like sound deadening layer from the "spare wheel" compartment

335i E90's seem to have it, most E92 dont
