All you need to do is create an 'image' or ISO of the nav disc on your PC. Then insert the files that I have posted in the relevant directories mentioned in the guide, burn it back to a DVD + RW and stick it in the dash. |

The handiest thing of all is to just download the 2007-02 DVD (with June '07 UK speed camera database) thru bittorrent. Viv kindly supplied the link in a previous thread.
It only took me 8 hours overnight to download the ISO - when my broadband is unmetered.

Overnight (1pm - 6pm or so) does not usually count toward this total as it is a period of low demand. My provider does not seem to enforce it that much though mine was 25GB per month, but one month I did 120GB

I've been playing with google maps & some nicely available software to let you make your own POIs for the SatNavPro- it doesn't have to be just speedcams! I'll stick a new thread up over the weekend, if anyone's interested, well, even if nobody's bothered, I'm still posting it! Viv |

Welcome & I hope you're enjoying the forum. Both the .url & .idx files are needed, if you want to use any self-produced POIs (points of interest eg speedcams) on the BMW SatNavPro DVD. Unfortunately, you cannot just stick a standard .csv / .asc / .gpx etc file on the disc- it just won't work. You need to convert that info into a .url & .idx file, using the info provided here (step 13). If you want the speedcam data as a standard POI file (for your Tomtom, Garmin etc), then just download it as such, using the likes of a Bittorrent search engine. All the best. Viv |
