Which of these is going to give me a headache when I have to take my 335i in again for regular maintence (oil change, coolant change, etc).

1.) BMS intake (installed)

2.) ER Charge Pipe (not yet installed)

3.) ETS FMIC (not yet installed)

4.) ETS Cat-back exhaust (not yet installed)

Basically, I'm wondering which of these items is going to get me a: "Umm, Mr. Jones, it seems you have XXX aftermarket part on your car and that just voided your warranty". I would seriously like to avoid this.

Should I literally wait until my warranty expires and then put the rest of the items I listed on the car?

I was even thinking I might have to take the BMS intake off and the OEM intake back on before I take her in for the next round of regular maintence, but that would sux if I had to do that?

What does everyone think? I'm guessing most will reply: "It depends on your dealership - some frown on aftermarket parts, some don't care".

I use "Global BMW" in Atlanta, if anyone might have used them and gotten feedback on their aftermarket parts installed as it relates to warranty issues etc.

I've used Global for 10 yrs and never had a major problem with them but I do not mod. They were a Dinan dealer so are accepting of modifications but don't assume they'd jeopardize their relationship with BMWNA over your warranty claim. The thing to keep in mind is hoe a modification may affect warranty on a part or system. Example: Oiled air filters and excessive oil consumption. These filters allow more dirt than stock which could score cylinder liners and contribute to the oil consumption. Now we all know some engine will burn oil but BMWNA will note the aftermarket air filter as cause. The oil from these filters can coat the MAF and cause drivability issues.

Larger/heavier wheels cause additional wear on suspension components..

I don't see any dealer having an issue with scheduled maintenance work and aftermarket parts. If the key fob says it's time to change oil, then they can change the oil and get paid by BMW.

Warranty work can be questioned depending on the nature of the work and the mods. If your radio stopped working and you have an aftermarket intake, again, no issues there.

never had an issue with the dealer for any of my aftermarket parts. I go in all the time with my car modded. They wont even say anything. Techs get paid to fix cars not to point out that you have aftermarket parts. Theyre not going to rat to the advisor that youre car is modded. They only way your warranty will get voided is if and ONLY IF something happened to your car and that was a result of the aftermarket part. For example if you have coilovers and one of your rear arm bolts snap or something they can blame it on all the tension thats being places on your rear suspension.

^ Makes sense. So if I put on the ETS Charge Pipe and for some odd reason (knock on wood x3 this never happens), my engine starts doing something weird even though say the charge pipe has been on for 30,000 miles or whatever, they could say: "Well, what this aftermarket part doing on the car - it looks like it causing issues with the engine" - or some crap like that is what your saying?

Ya but it really just depends on your SA imo, ive seen warranties get voided for just jb4 when going in for brakes so idk
