The way I see it is, you're more likely to have an incident driving at 7/10 on the road ( when you take into acocunt all the variables) than you are at 9/10 on the track. |

The way I look at it you have to ask yourself the question. What if the worst case scenario happens and you somehow stack it hard - can you afford to take that as a life lesson and accept responsibility for it. And this is regardless of this was your own fault or if someone hit you. Neither of these scenarios are likely to happen on a well marshalled day BUT it's something you should have considered before you go on track. If the answer to that one is no, then the £100-170 for the track day insurrance (depending on declared value) will look very cheap if anything does happen. Of cause if you do more track days this will add up and this is the reason why I changed my insurrance to Green Light's £50 flat fee per day. At that price it's a no brainer. So I would recommend that you consider the insurance in the total experience. I would love to see more people attend track days and be able to have a E90Post group outing at some point. |

I organised a track day back in 2008 at Snetterton with great success. I took out insurance at the time as my car was worth 30k+ still as it was only a year old.
The 'Ring is a bigger risk IMHO as so many numpts floating about.

Polite - As much as I enjoyed it, I probably wouldn't. You can take an M3 around Brands for £99 iirc. At £50 for the event and say £50 for insurance, that's a no brainer for me. Especially if you consider wear and tear to your car, plus petrol. But the next time I drive around Brands, it will probably be in the M3 & Single Seater combo. I know that's about £185 but still not far off.
dxb - Not to mention how crazy the costs/charges are if you come off at Ze Ring! I don't know what insurance for there would be for but I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't include towing off charges. You come off there and can be quickly looking at a 1000€ bill. |

Track days are organised, marshalled and helmets have to be worn etc. Tourist days are not and full of all sorts. = lethal really.

Exactly. It's what puts me off tbh and why again I'd rather do it in someone else's car.
On a side note, wow the app makes a mess of symbols. That was meant to be 1000Euros. I knew of a lad who was charged a few hundred Euros just to get it off the track. I think they wanted double for the damage and he didn't have recovery to get the car home. I'm not even sure of he ever brought the car back. I'll try to look the thread up. |

Now, now play nice children. Mumies going to go the track and race the other daddies, And when I come back I want both of your rooms made up and have your teeth brushed and you both ready for bed. Mummy might bring back a freind and so I want you both on your best behaviour. Is that understood?
