Where should I get my windows tinted in NYC?

Did some research online, too many possibilities! Can anyone here recommend a place they had a good experience with? I'm in lower Manhattan but I'm willing to drive wherever.

335i M Sport (E90/2011) if it makes a difference

Also: how dark do you think I can get away with?

The Tint Shop Joe is a great guy with great prices. You can search for all the positive reviews that local members have of getting their tint done by Joe. Print that coupon out on his homepage and mention that you heard of him through the forums.

Guaranteed Alarm Co. in Brooklyn. They work on the best cars, always flawless. Turnaround time is decent as well.

I've always had Sun Auto Glass in Englewood, NJ tint my cars. They've always done a great job.

Can the do the rear window dot-matrix properly? how are the prices like?

p.s. I think I saw your car at 180 customs with no headlights a week or so ago lol

Yea, that was me. No headlights/bumper. But it was worth the wait, I will post up pics of my lights soon, they look sick.

As far as the dot matrix, it comes out pretty well. I have relatively little to compare it to, as the first tint job i got on my e92 was so fucked up that I almost cracked the guy who did it.

Does any of these places tint the 3rd brake light? A few shops i went to were not able to tint that and I've seen many 3's on the road and on here that don't have the 3rd brake light tinted.

Remove it and they should have no problem doing it. I'm sure most dont do it because every car is different and they don't want to break anything by removing it.

Agreed. Lorenzo's tint shop is great. However, If your ever by the westchester area, Sam's Window Tinting located in Nyack, NY (not too far from the Palisades mall) does the finest in my opinion. Their an authorized 3M tint/body panel product installers. All the tints are cut and trimmed by a laser cut machine. I got 3M fade proof tints done in my 330 for $325. The fade proofs are great, had em for years and not a single hint of fading. (unlike lumar tint). If you live within the five boros, I recommend nothing below 20 percent. I'd stick with 35's I hear cops are dicks in the city about tints.
