Yes, but only when parked. Someone on here I'm sure, however, knows how to code it to where you can watch while driving though not recommended. LOL.

yes. It's possible to watch them in motion. It's not a coding thing, it's a module thing.
NAV-TV BMW-VIM will do the trick. MAP is $599, MSRP is $649, I believe. I'm not sure what kind of deals you can get on them, they aren't online very often, so I put retail up here. This is a fairly simple piece to install, and bypassing the safety lockout is just a matter of pressing a couple SWC buttons in sequence. DISCLAIMER: Please do not view video in motion. This piece is for your passengers viewing pleasure only. You need to concentrate on driving, because the person you hit could be me (not that some of you would mind)

To the Op, go to dvdinmotion.com. It's a software download to disk which you play in your DVD drive. Which unlocks the DVD function to be used in motion. Watch the demo vid on the website. (as long as its compatible with your model year)

Some terrible advice here...
1. Older CCC iDrive does not support DVD playback, period. There is no DVD player in there. 2. Newer CIC iDrive does support playback when the car is parked. For DVD in motion contact a local coder. 06-08 is older CCC iDrive, 09-12 is newer CIC iDrive. OP's 2007 cannot view DVDs unless he retrofits CIC. |

To answer your question, yes, it will void the warranty on the specific wires that are cut to add in the module. It is, however, possible to put the car back to stock, and not have the warranty affected. You will need to cut 2 wires, and interface 3 other wires, to install the BMW-VIM. I have installed 6 of them (4 in 6-series, and 2 in 3-series), and none of them have had issues that affected the car. One of them (6-series) stopped working after a few weeks, but replacing the module with a new one fixed the issue. It was replaced under warranty. It is very expensive, but if you do not have access to a BMW tech who is willing to code your car for VIM, this is the only option.

lol you get to an action scene where everyone is kicking each others ass, cars are flying everywhere and shit is blowing up.... and your stareing straight at your iDrive.. you then realize that this is better than 3D cinemas cuz you feel every crash/rollover and then your airbags deploys... and i drive shuts off.
please keep your eyes on the road. lol |
